Cardiologist
Dr. Shiv Sab is a multi-board-certified cardiologist, with a special focus on general invasive cardiology and preventative cardiology. His healthcare philosophy is to provide comprehensive individualized high-quality care to each patient. Dr. Sab treats complex cardiac pathologies, but he is a firm believer in prevention and healthy living. His approach centers on preventing and diagnosing potential issues before they occur and managing major risk factors for cardiovascular disease. He believes strongly in patients’ education and in communicating with his patients as much as possible and involving them in their care plan so that they can make informed decisions. He is skilled at reducing complex cardiac conditions to simple analogies so that patients and their families can comprehend the diagnosis. He expects patients to bring their medication bottles and blood pressure logs to each appointment. Questions are encouraged throughout the duration of the visit. With his strong diagnostic and multilingual skills, extensive clinical experience and knowledge with the latest cardiac techniques and literature, Dr. Sab is helping to bring state-of-the-art compassionate and comprehensive care to San Diego area.
Dr. Sab graduated medical school from Drexel University in Philadelphia and completed training in internal medicine at UC Davis and cardiology fellowship at UC San Diego. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography and stress Echocardiography, Nuclear cardiology (CBNC), Cardiac Computed Tomography (CBCCT) and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
Dr. Sab grew up in Burlingame, California. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, skiing, and traveling. He is a diehard Warriors, 49ers and Villanova basketball fan.
